"Art does not reproduce what is visible; it makes things visible."
Paul Klee - Artist and innovator

Welcome to Painted Copper!
If Paul Klee was right, an overarching goal of any artist is to express a vision of the world in a way that is so unique it opens our eyes anew to much in life that surrounds us.
The artistry of Timothy Spillane springs from just such a vision - the desire to continually see things as though for the first time.
Humans have used pigment from the earliest times to give expression to their thoughts, to communicate their feelings, and to capture the beauty of their world. Copper's history is long as well - used by the ancient civilizations of Eygypt, Greece and Rome - and its enduring use in the arts and architecture have earned it the moniker of the "timeless metal."
In the following pages, we invite you to explore with us just how paint, copper and perspective combine in Tim Spillane's art to create a new and unique vision.
Enjoy!
